Wall Creation

  Located on the Sheet Metal toolbar.

Use this to ...

• Create sheet metal walls.

Prerequisites

• You should be in the Sheet Metal Design workbench.
• You need an existing sketch.

Process: Creating a Sheet Metal Wall

1. Select Insert | Wall. CATIA prompts you to pick a sketched profile.

2. Pick a sketch in the Graphics window or the Specification Tree to display the Wall Definition dialog.

3.   If necessary, click Profile to open the Sketcher workbench to modify the sketch.

4. If necessary, modify the profile in the Sketcher workbench.

5.   Click Exit to return to the Sheet Metal Design workbench.

6. If necessary, click Invert Material Side (in the Wall Definition dialog) to reverse the wall direction.

7. If necessary, click in the Tangent to text box and pick an existing wall to be tangent to in the Graphics window.

8. Click OK to create the wall.

Options

Invert Material Side

Reverses the direction of the sheet wall. You can also click on the arrow in the Graphics window.

Profile

Allows you to edit the selected sketch. The Sketcher workbench opens allowing you to modify the existing profile.

Tangent To

Allows you to pick an existing wall to be tangent to the new one.

Tips

Creating cutouts inside the profile makes it easier to modify
