Convert Existing Sheet Metal Parts
1. Open a sheet metal part that was not created in the Generative Sheetmetal Design workbench.
2. Make sure you are in the Generative Sheetmetal Design workbench.
3. Select Insert | Recognize. CATIA displays the Recognize Definition dialog.
4. Pick the Reference Face which will be used for unfolding. The sheet metal parameters will be based on this face. (Notice that the With Wall Recognition option in the dialog is pre-selected since walls will be recognized regardless.)
5. Activate Full Recognition. This option automatically selects With Bend Recognition and propagates the selection to all tangent faces.
6. Click OK to recognize the part. CATIA displays Recognize.1 in the Specification Tree. You can now perform Generative Sheetmetal operations on this part.
